This week the Spirit of God gently speaks to me as I sit out on my front porch. It's only for a moment that I sit to relax, to breathe, to reset before jumping back into the hectic game of life. As a new month arrives, I think of unmet goals, book deadlines, laundry (always thoughts of laundry🙄), sermons and teachings ahead of me. The sun on my back forces my body to rest and be still. I hear God speak one word... JOY! As soon as I hear that word, my heart leaps with rejoicing. I can see myself running on a beach with the wind blowing intentionally through my hair. Yes I'm excited and I'm thrilled to hear the word JOY and I hope you are too. After months of mourning, tests and battles, it is refreshing to hear God say JOY. It is that uncontrollable laughter that spills from deep in your belly for no reason at all, it's the smell of a newborn child, it's the freedom of impending doom and gloom. It is simple, it is powerful and consuming, it is JOY. Yes for this beautiful month my friends, the lord promised us JOY. It is greater than happiness because it's not dependent on what's happening. It's not temporal but sustaining and with you no matter what you face in this new month. You simply need to believe and by faith receive this promised JOY. The scriptures remind us that the joy of the lord is our strength!! So in your weakest moments this week I want you to remember the word of the lord to you-Joy. Have it, Speak it, Write it, Release it!! Let Joy fill your conversations and your daily chores. Allow JOY to interrupt your mornings and direct your prayers. The bible also encourages us to know that weeping may endure for a night, but JOY comes in the morning ! The night season is over! (Declare it) JOY is yours for the taking!! Don't keep this to yourself today. SHARE this word with a friend or on your Facebook page this week. Everyone can use a little JOY right now, do you agree? •Kay Starks

Praise the Lord my sister! Thank God for this soul-stirring word of encouragement. I touch and agree with you as soldiers of the cross, we can find joy in Christ Jesus through our battles and tests, ups and downs, through it all, because we have learned to trust in Jesus! The JOY of the Lord is my strength!!
