Does the thought of writing everyday terrify you? Probably so if your not an author. I love to write, I’m gifted to write, I write everyday. I realize that if your reading this, you probably don’t fall into any of those categories so you need a plan if your going to commit to writing everyday.

First let me say to you that writing everyday builds consistency and will increase your desire to write. Especially if you are trying to write a book, you kinda need to make a habit out of writing . So I have a 3 step plan that really works.

Step One -kick out all those negative voices in your head that tell you this doesn’t make sense, your not a good writer, no one wants to read what you wrote etc...every word you pen is valid and it makes sense to someone. I honestly have to tell myself this daily, I say out loud : I’m making sense and my writing is valuable. . Those negative voices will always show up but if your going to be a successful author, your going to have to silence those voices weekly and start writing

Step two : Make an appointment! If you agreed to grab coffee with a friend (keeping social distancing in mind) you would do your best to make that appointment. Standing your friend up would mean disappointing her. Make an appointment to Write, yes pick a specific time and stick to it. There is always 60 min in an hour, 24 hours in a day, time doesn’t change. Pick your time and get writing.

Last but certainly not least Step Three: I aim to write 300-500 words a day. As a writer I can write forever and think everyone has hours to read my work (NOT!) attention spans are shorter as the days go by so I commit to power packing my posts with good content , in short bursts. You may not blog but set a WORD goal daily: how much can you commit to writing? Be realistic and don’t be afraid to sneak out of your comfort zone a bit. Your book chapters won’t write themselves, so discipline yourself to reach that word count goal and you’ll be done in no time.

That’s it! Three simple, yet effective steps to get your creative juices flowing and your book complete for 2020. No one is expecting you to write a book in one day ( although I did write my first book in a day-but that’s another story for another day lol) so start with this plan and get your WRITING on. You can do it! Your book is needed! If you need more one on one help with starting or finishing your book. Click the link below and let’s connect. I LOVE to help aspiring authors!!
