How are you REALLY feeling?

So often when people ask us how we are doing, it’s more of a greeting versus an actual concern. I think I’m a time as this, we should definitely redefine this concept. So today I want to know how you doing, how are you REALLY...
Feeling within your heart. The strike of this pandemic in the United States has taken us all down a dark road we don’t want to follow. This is a challenging, confusing and divided time. How are we supposed to know how to feel? I’ve got the answer my friend.

See feelings can’t always be wrapped in a little perfect box and contained. Feelings/Emotions are a necessary part of our makeup. Although feelings often get a bad wrap, without them we would be considered inhuman. Jesus had emotions when he was here on earth as a human being, he wasn’t heartless or emotionless. He loved, he cried, he celebrated, he mourned. So the answer to that question is...not to feel like a label but be honest in your heart about how you feel each day.

Feelings are fleeting! Yesterday I felt elated because I had received some new appliances and the coldness of a new fridge and fresh food made me smile. Yet on that same day I reflected on my losses this month alone and I felt the tug of my depression and anxiety at times. I know you may have felt like this at times too else you wouldn’t still be reading this.

TALK! When you feel negative, dark, depressed and stressed, talk it out! Keeping these type of emotions bottled up only leads to disaster trust me on that one. If you feel no one will listen or care, that’s NOT TRUE. That’s the voice of discouragement trying to keep you down. Pick up your cell and talk to Someone, text someone about your feelings. And if all that fails (which I doubt) then write it out!!!

You don’t have to be a writer to write. Grab a notebook or your laptop and just flow. Release, release, release. Got it?
Now here’s the flip side..when your feeling good, happy, excited, thankful..TALK! (Sorry for shouting but I’m excited because I know this is helping you). Take that same energy and share your joys, your dreams, your victories with anyone who will listen. Spreading positive feelings will not only uplift you but others around you. It’s okay to feel both good and bad-your human. Just remember that while your busy being human, God is busy being God. You are not alone and He still has the desire to connect with you, especially during this uncertain time.

God still wants to love on you and hear how you are really feeling. He can handle the full range of your emotions because he made them all. So take a deep breathe. Take a quiet moment. Release how you really feel and wait a moment when your done. You may not hear thunder from the Sky but you will hear God speak..if u listen carefully.

Whenever I am sad, I feel like there is no one there for me; to lift up my spirit and help me get through that situation. But I found a way to release my frustrations in life and that is through writing. At some point, I see it as my way of communicating with God. I know that he will understand me and why I am frustrated. There are so many ways on how to talk to Him! We should choose the way on what we are convenient even more.
