Stuck in a rut? Exhausted? If you answered YES, then it's time to feed your soul, nourish your soul with these ideas............ #1 Read, read, read! Books are powerful! spending a few minutes a day (about 15) losing yourself in a good book will renew your mental strength and allow you to escape the day to day routine. There are so many amazing authors out there whose words will bless and strengthen you. Currently I'm reading a book called "Don't waste the Pain" by Daniel Lyons. Its an incredible testimony of strength and perseverance through a very dark season of his life. I relate to this because of my own dark season I'm facing and I'm finding great encouragement and joy from his testimony! So find books that relate to your current situation in life. Books are inexpensive as well, so make no excuse not to snag a good read for the Summer. I use a website called "cbd.com", its an excellent source of great reads for low prices. check it out! Not only will reading lift your spirit, but you could also LEARN something new. #2 Get your SERVE on! Serving others can be really rewarding and nourishing to your soul. Visit a hospital, bring some lunch to a neighbor, babysit for a single mom.....there are so many ways to serve and they are ALL filled with rewards. Yes serving others will require sacrifice, but it will be well worth it, trust me! Recently I was asked to teach a class of 4-8 year old children, at a local church. My first thought was 'YIKES', what a challenge!! I made the time, I taught the class and I actually found a good dose of healing, in teaching that class. From crafts, to stories to laugh out loud moments-it was all good and I felt SO much better in my soul, when I left those little ones. Challenge yourself to serve this week-give just ONE hour of your time this week to someone in need of a little help! #3 Forgive someone! Unforgiveness creates a burden on your soul and weighs you down! Extend Grace to someone who has offended you or wronged you in some way. Yes its a challenge, but its' doable and necessary. The bible teaches that if we don't forgive others, we won't be forgiven! So before we mount that high horse and look down on our offenders, let's remember that God never treats us that way and we should be His example in the earth. Forgiveness will actually give you more energy, carry less stress and make you more effective. So lift that burden off your soul today and forgive!! Which of these ideas will you try this week??
